Blending convenience and connectivity with a countryside setting, the garden village concept was our design inspiration, with its focus on community, sustainability and nature for wellbeing.
Our approach was to create the impression of a neighbourhood that had developed organically over time, and had something for everyone, from first-time buyers to downsizers, from professional couples to growing families. We worked with Heylo Housing and Two Rivers Housing to provide 30 homes for affordable rent and purchase.
The result is a delightful garden village of 177 two, three and four bedroom homes as well as bungalows from both our Signature and Style collections, and shared spaces that foster community and enhance its residents’ lifestyle. These included play areas, outdoor exercise stations, walking trails, cycle hire and allotments so people of all ages can keep active on their doorstep. Every home has access to an outdoor charging point for electric cars and there is a community charging point next to the allotments.
Our community liaison manager ensured all residents were aware of how their community was progressing through the development phases. As part of our S106 agreement we invested almost £950,000 in local education provision and highways improvements to support the growth of the neighbourhood. And, for every home we sold, a contribution was made to our Edenstone Foundation, which supports causes and charities local to our developments.
