More than 250 people have signed up to a database interested in just 39 private sale properties at The Orchards development coming soon on land off Higher Town.
Work on the development, known as The Orchards, is progressing well with the sales office on site opening soon (from mid-November).
Sales director Adele McCoy said: “There’s a real demand for new homes in this part of Devon. We’ve been receiving enquiries from potential purchasers interested in our homes in Sampford Peverell since we announced the acquisition of the land. That increased once planning was secured, and the interest has intensified since work started on site.
“In response, we have held a series of exclusive preview events for the people on the database. They were fully booked with back-to-back appointments, with everyone eager to find out more about the homes. We’ve secured a number of reservations from those events and are working with others who are keen to move here, including those who are waiting for the show home to open before committing to buy.”
The private sale properties at The Orchards will include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes and three-bedroom bungalows.
There will also be 18 affordable homes, with one to four bedrooms. The development will also include three designated self-build plots earmarked for four-bedroom homes.
“Location, and the energy efficiency of our homes, which will achieve Energy Performance Certificate A ratings, are key factors attracting buyers to want to live at The Orchards,” Adele added.
“The site itself is on the edge of Sampford Peverell, under a half mile from Tiverton Parkway train station and the M5. With a farm shop nearby, plus orchards, allotments and a field of wildflowers as part of the development, the area is intended to create a distinct village feel.
It’s well placed for families as there’s a great choice of independent and secondary schools in the area. The homes are within the catchment area of the very desirable Uffculme School, rated “outstanding” by Ofsted, while the private Blundell’s School and Tiverton High School are also just a short distance away.
“There’s also the potential for stunning views of the surrounding area for residents as the site is situated on a hillside.”
In addition to building new homes, Edenstone will invest more than £250,000 into the local community via section 106 contributions with funding allocated for early years provision, school transport and secondary education.
As part of Edenstone’s commitment to the environment ,bat boxes will be provided with hedgehog highways and tunnels created.
The sales office at The Orchards is due to open from mid-November and will be followed by a professionally styled, fully furnished show home.
