A QUARTER of private sale new homes in Bleadon will be available with ‘zero bills’, Edenstone Homes has revealed.

The homebuilder is preparing to launch its aptly named Eden’s Green development on Bridge Road.

Around 250 people have registered interest in just 29 private sale properties, seven of which will be available with ‘zero energy bills’ under a partnership between Edenstone and Octopus Energy, guaranteeing no energy bills for five years.

Eden’s Green will launch from this weekend (July 27) with the opening of a four-bedroom detached Kingsholm show home featuring the ‘zero energy bills’ technology.

Edenstone sales director Adele McCoy said: “We’ve had a great response to Eden’s Green. There’s been a lot of interest around how we’re transforming the grounds of this former quarry, embracing the landscape, to provide a stunning setting for our energy efficient new homes. It’s our second development to feature ‘zero bills’ homes through our partnership with Octopus Energy. A quarter of our private sale new homes in Bleadon will be available under the initiative.

“We’re looking forward to opening the show home and explaining more about the innovative technology and its potential to save homeowners thousands of pounds a year, while also reducing their impact on the environment.”

Prices for the three and four-bedroom homes start at £399,995.

The show home is an example of the largest property on the development, the double-fronted Kingsholm and will be professionally styled and fully furnished by interior designers Blocc.

Each of the ‘Zero Bills’ homes will be installed with clean energy devices, including solar photovoltaic (PV), and a home battery. ‘Zero Bills’ is made possible through Octopus’ technology platform, Kraken, which connects to the clean energy devices installed in the home and manages their energy usage to deliver a zero bill.

As part of Edenstone’s commitment to enhancing the biodiversity of the site, a wetland pond will feature at the entrance, with the homebuilder also providing a community park with play area, community orchard and plenty of green open spaces.

Edenstone will make a series of section 106 contributions worth almost £100,000 to support the growth of the neighbourhood. These include more than £36,000 for safe routes to school; more than £40,000 for new bus shelters on Bridge Road and bus stop maintenance; more than £6,500 for sustainable transport and almost £4,000 towards footpath improvements.

There will also be a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contribution.
