A place for future generations

Blending sustainability, community, and modern living, homes at St Mary’s Garden Village are less than a mile from the historic town of Ross-on-Wye. Designed to create a vibrant, eco-friendly neighbourhood, this attractive development will ultimately consist of 475 new homes, including 156 affordable homes—offering a mix of private and rental homes, shared ownership, and fully accessible homes for disabled residents.

The development has been thoughtfully designed to sit as part of the local landscape, whilst its distinctive appearance has its roots in the beautiful Arts & Crafts architecture of the surrounding county of Herefordshire.

Bringing people together

St Mary’s offers a host of shared amenities, all accessible to every resident, including allotments, children’s play areas and even a five-a-side kick around area. Extensive walking, cycling and trim trails wind through the development’s lush and ample green spaces, wetland areas and oak waterside retreat providing plenty of opportunities to exercise outdoors and promoting well-being.

At the heart of the community is the net zero Community Hub, producing as much energy as it consumes. The hub features a fully equipped gym, meeting rooms and flexible spaces for social activities, all available to residents, providing places to meet as well as creating a real sense of belonging.

Sustainable housing

Designed with the future in mind, St Mary’s has embraced sustainability. As part its range of high quality, energy-efficient homes, Edenstone has trialled a number of zero energy solutions and recently partnered with Octopus Energy – in a first for Herefordshire -with a ‘ Zero Bills’ tariff ensuring homeowners benefit from zero energy bills, for 5 years guaranteed.

Doing the right thing for future generations in terms of sustainability has also resulted in the creation of green spaces for all, planting of over 600 new trees and thousands of shrubs. Creating a home for wildlife has brought nature right to the doorstep, with swans and their young to be found near the development’s several wetland areas.

Supporting our local communities

St Mary’s has made significant investments in the local area, contributing to improved transport links, including new cycleways connecting the village to Ross-on-Wye, and substantial S106 contributions of over £2million to local education and services.

The majority of provisions were not driven by Planning requirements but were introduced to deliver on Edenstone’s key objectives in creating a sustainable community.

With a focus on sustainable living, community engagement, and affordable housing, St Mary’s Garden Village has already become a model for future developments.
