A new view home in the Somerset village of Bleadon is showcasing how Edenstone Homes is thoughtfully designing homes to maximise natural light, creating bright and airy living spaces.
The opening of the four-bedroom detached Monmouth follows the launch of the developer’s first show home at Eden’s Green.
The development features just 29 private sale properties – seven of which are available with ‘zero energy bills’ for five years, thanks to a partnership with Octopus Energy.
The Monmouth demonstrates how Edenstone’s homes have been designed with modern living in mind. At its heart is the open plan kitchen, dining and family room, which has an abundance of natural light thanks to VELUX roof windows and bi-fold doors opening out onto the garden.
Edenstone operations director Chris Edge explained: “Bringing natural light into the home is important for our health and wellbeing, particularly at this time of year when the daylight hours are shorter. The Monmouth has been designed with both sustainability and wellbeing in mind. The combined kitchen, dining and family room is a light and airy, well- ventilated multifunctional space that’s very much the heart of the home and destined to be a hive of activity. Light colours really reflect the sunlight and so we’ve opted for a beautiful Loran Highland stone finish kitchen, with herringbone lime washed oak flooring, in the Monmouth view home.
“While selected homes at Eden’s Green offer ‘zero bills’ for five years, an advantage of this design is that homeowners are likely to be reaching for the light switch less often, helping save energy. There’s even the potential to enjoy stargazing from the dining table of the Monmouth or perhaps watch the sunrise or set.”
The Monmouth is a substantial double fronted property, with a spacious lounge at the front, perfect for relaxing in. On the opposite side of the hallway is a dedicated study, ideal for those who spend at least part of the week working from home.
A utility room and downstairs cloakroom complete the ground floor. Upstairs, the main bedroom benefits from a dressing room and en-suite, with the large family bathroom serving the remaining three bedrooms.
There are six Monmouth style homes available across Eden’s Green, including plot 41, which features the ‘zero bills’ technology and is priced from £629,995. The wider development offers a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £399,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Chepstow.
The professionally styled and fully furnished show home is a four-bedroom Kingsholm and is one of the ‘zero bills’ homes, featuring an air source heat pump in the garden and a battery and invertor in the garage.
The homes are being built in a lovely village location, close to the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Severn Estuary and the River Axe.
