ADAPTING the garden village concept for modern living, a fresh phase of new homes launches at River View in Lydney this weekend (1 June).

Premium housebuilder Edenstone Homes will be building and selling properties at the Highfield Road development alongside Bluebell Homes, with both brand parts of the Edenstone Group.

Ranked by Wales Business insider as the fastest growing business in Wales, Edenstone has a growing reputation across South Wales and the South West of England for providing highly sought-after, homes in outstanding locations, with a superb specification and River View is no exception.

The new Edenstone Homes phase will comprise 31 properties – a choice of 12 three and four-bedroom homes and, bucking the trend, 19 bungalows.

Between the two brands, the development will offer something for everyone – from first time buyers, professionals, families and downsizers, along with community facilities that will help make homebuyers enjoy living at River View.

Managing director Martin Taylor said: “At River View we have reimagined the garden village concept championed by Ebenezer Howard in the 19th century to meet modern ideals of how people want to live now and in the future. We’ve taken a fresh approach to addressing the housing shortage so that we’re not just simply building houses but creating a sustainable community where people will love living.”

He explained: “As an independent homebuilder we have a greater flexibility in how we approach new homes developments than some other businesses and this enables us to adapt the housing mix to the local market.

“The addition of the Edenstone properties helps create the impression of a neighbourhood that’s developed organically over time and further enhances the choice of homes available at River View, including the rare opportunity to own a brand new bungalow.

Martin added “While bungalows account for around 2% of all new-builds, including those on retirement developments or provided as affordable housing, we are offering five styles of bungalows for sale in a choice of two and three-bedroom designs, suitable for a range of buyers and their lifestyles.”

Edenstone’s high specification includes a premium range of traditional and contemporary kitchens, with a choice of worktops, plus integrated appliances. Bathrooms, en-suites and cloakrooms feature contemporary white sanitaryware by Roca.

Every home at River View will have access to an outdoor power point for charging electric cars.

Encouraging residents young and old to pursue an active lifestyle, there will be play areas and exercise equipment provided within the development.

Allotments, exclusively for use by residents of River View, will be available from the summer.

Martin added: “The new Edenstone Homes phase of River View is close to the wetland habitat and play areas – perfect for a spot of bird watching or for the children or grandchildren to play outside.”

The Edenstone Homes sales centre at River View will be open daily from 10.30am to 5pm from 1 June. Prices for the new phase will be announced at the launch.
